LEADER
"The word of the Clan Leader is law."
After a long life of service to the clan, being appointed to deputy by their previous leader, and then approved by StarClan, the leader is the most respected cat in the entire clan. They are in charge of, frankly, everything. The clan leader grants new warriors their names, assigns mentors their apprentices to train, keeps the clan running smoothly, and much much more.
DEPUTY
Second in command to their leader, the deputy is a very high rank in the clan. They are chosen specifically by their leader, and will succeed them should that leader die while they are serving them. They organize and run patrols and training regimens within the clan - along with anything else their leader requests of them.
MEDICINE CAT
The clan's healer and connection to StarClan, the medicine cat is extremely valuable and highly respected. It is their duty to watch over all of the clan - from the strongest warrior to the weakest kit - and to provide for them and protect them. They are also invaluable consul for the clan's leader, sharing dreams and wisdom sent from StarClan, and supporting the leader in front of the clan.
Because of WildClan's large territory and population, the medicine cat rank has been slightly altered over time. Instead of only one mentor and one apprentice, the senior medicine cat can take on multiple apprentices - the most experienced of which will succeed them when they die.
SAGES
The sage is a unique rank among the clan. This is not an official high rank such as the deputy, but the title is only granted to the most skilled of individuals. Those who are "the best" at what they do, and at training other cats in those skills, are highly respected, and often oversee training in their field. They have no official power in the clan, but tend to be close to the clan leader and included in important decisions.
ELDERS
As cats who have either served their clan long and faithfully until old age, or who have been crippled by an injury, elders have earned their life of relative ease. They are taken care of by the rest of the clan, but have the autonomy to come and go from the camp when they wish. Because of their experience, they are often consulted during difficult times - or they spend their time entertaining the clan's newest kits with stories and legends.
WARRIORS
Warriors are the main part of the clan - the fighters and hunters and mentors for their fellow clanmates. They spend most of their days on hunting or border patrols, teaching their young apprentices, and protecting and rebuilding the camp.
QUEENS
The mothers of the new generations of the clan, queens are treated with great respect and taken care of throughout their time in the nursery, starting about a moon before they give birth. While some queens choose to take up a permanent residence in the nursery between kittings, most return to their warrior duties as soon as their kits are apprenticed.
APPRENTICES
As the future warriors of the clan, apprentices are taught the basics of hunting and fighting skills alongside the edicts of the Warrior Code. Along with their training, they serve the elders and take care of similar duties around the camp. It is highly unlikely that an apprentice will be allowed the leave the camp without a warrior.
KITS
The future of the clan - from mewly newborn kits to rambunctious almost-apprentices, kits are a common sight around the camp, especially near the nursery or elder's den. They are fiercely protected by the clan, and are watched over by all of their clanmantes.
